Edward and Alphonse Elric are brothers skilled in Alchemy, the science of changing one thing into another. When their mother dies, Edward decides to bring her back to life. Something goes wrong in the process, Ed loses an arm and leg while Al loses his body causing his spirit to go into a suit of armor.
